There are some simple things in life that just make me want to kick my feet up and shout, because they are so awesome. For example, take the really cool and very capable 5.1 home theater system that I have in my living room; which also has a radically huge 42” widescreen flat panel LCD HDTV that is wall mounted. Indeed, one could say that I enjoy quite the setup and viewing pleasures whenever I watch movies with my family or my friends. I didn’t always have this great of a home theater system setup. But about a year or so ago I decided that it was finally time to get my hands on the home theater system of my dreams. It was not fully completed, however, until I finally added the last missing and crucial piece of my home theater system a few months ago: a brand new Blu Ray HD DVD player that allows me to really enjoy movies in the highest clarity and most brilliance as is currently available—and let me tell you, nothing compares my friends!

When my friends moved into their new condo, they were so excited to display their also new Plasma TV in their living room. This was one purchase that they both have been saving for to put into their new space.  They had an old table stand for it that just fit their new Plasma TV. They wanted to see first where the TV would look best before they bought a nice TV console. As it turned out, we were all happy and relieved they waited, because after you put in their couches and tables ect., there wasn’t a lot of room for a TV console.  The best place to display their new Plasma TV was to purchase a TV wall mount. At first they were disappointed, thinking that a TV wall mount wouldn’t be visually appealing, but they were wrong. After the TV was mounted and a table and pictures were displayed beneath it, it made a cozy TV niche. Everyone has a view of the plasma and it saved precious space in their living room.

Yesterday afternoon I was sitting in the living room reading a book, when in walked my son and daughter in law with a new plasma TV. At first, I thought that they were maybe bringing the TV in so that it wouldn’t have to sit outside in the car. Even though chances are no one would have taken it, in this day and age, you can’t be cautious enough. My son then walked in with the plasma TV box and set it in front of me and said, “Happy early birthday mom”. At first, it didn’t register to me what he was saying, and then I realized that the plasma TV was for me.  It doesn’t happen often, but in that moment I was speechless. I told my son and daughter in law that I thought it was really sweet of them, but that I couldn’t accept the gift that it was far too expensive.   My son explained that he’d found the plasma TV for a great price online and that it wasn’t nearly as expensive as I may think, and that he wanted me to not only accept the TV, but also to enjoy it. I am so appreciative of my son and daughter in law, and grateful for the plasma TV.

 

My mom and I visited my uncle and aunt recently and lo and behold in his family room was a huge Plasma TV. I didn’t realize he had that big of a screen. He was very proud of his Plasma TV and it was definitely one of his favorite items in the house. He is retired now, so he has all the sporting channels you could name playing on his beautiful large picture screen. I could just see him on his cozy recliner with a frosty beverage at his side and the remote on the other side switching channels to catch different games. My aunt just rolls her eyes and knows this is his man cave. They want to add to their Plasma TV and eventually have a whole home theater system. I can imagine movie night at their house, when that happens. My mom and I will be back when their home theater system is complete. My aunt is just afraid my uncle will never ever leave the recliner when the system is complete. I think she may be right.

I was first turned onto MP3 jukeboxes – as I had never heard of them before – when I saw one at my friend’s shop. He was working and his MP3 jukebox was playing his favorite songs as his MP3 player was docked inside of it. Curious to this anomaly that I had never seen before, I poised the question: what in the heck is that cool contraption? He told me all about it, and ever since, I have been really eager to get my hands on one. And now, I have one. Time to share the joy!

This morning I was browsing for some new iPod accessories when I came across the cutest case for my iPod. I’ve been searching iPod accessories for a while for a new case and haven’t found anything that I remotely loved until now.  I ordered it right away, since the website was also offering free shipping and if all goes well, I should have it sometime next week.
