Home Theater System Makes Gaming More Fun |

My kids love playing video games. Their first game system was a Playstation 2. Then, they had an XBOX. They enjoyed their games on a regular LCD TV for those few years. But now? Video gaming is way more fun for them on a home theater system with a larger, flat screen plasma TV with surround sound. Playing video games is something that my kids do just about daily. Once in a blue moon, I'll have them shut the games off for a day to do something more traditionally fun, like taking a hike or going for bike rides as a family. But, their break time after school is always spent playing on the Wii. The home theater system makes this such an adventure. The sound is bigger, the picture is wider. It's much easier for them to see their individual characters on the larger TV. Having it up on a wall mount makes it more visible to them, as well. Sometimes, I find myself needing to turn the volume down on them. The surround sound is great, but with the Wii, the sound comes from the controllers, too. So it really starts to surround me, after awhile, and I have to take a break from the noise. That's when we turn off the games and begin the homework.
