mp4 playerBoth of my eldest step-grandchildren have an MP4 player and every adult living in my house is glad that they do. MP4 players give children something with which to occupy their time and this stops them complaining about feeling bored. It also means that parent’s do not have to tolerate their child’s taste in music. My step-granddaughter likes to listen to The Jonas Brothers. It is safe to say that I do not. My step-grandson prefers loud heavy metal in which singers scream spitefully and damage their vocal cords. I can’t claim to like his taste in music much either.  The MP4 player means that we adults never have to shout at children to, “turn that rubbish off.” It also means that kids are free to hear music that reflects their developing taste and character, which is important.
Of course children are not the only individuals to enjoy using MP4 players. I own one too and I use it to listen to tunes when I put on my make-up or do my housework. My taste in music is somewhat more varied than that of my step-grandchildren, but I don’t inflict it on my husband because he doesn’t seem to like anything other than classic rock. The way I see things the MP4 player lets us all enjoy the music we like without irritating anybody else.
